RisePal (“RisePal,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a social alarm and wake-up accountability app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. What RisePal does

RisePal helps users create alarms, choose sounds, connect with buddies, send wake-up messages, share voice clips and drawings, and receive notifications related to alarms and buddy activity.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information reasonably needed to operate the app.

A. Account information

When you create an account, we may collect:

your email address
your display name
your username, if you set one
your login provider, such as email, Google, or Apple

B. Profile information

You may choose to provide:

a profile photo or drawn avatar
your country
your timezone
theme and notification preferences

C. Alarm and app usage information

To make the app work, we store information such as:

your alarms
alarm names or labels
alarm times, repeat days, snooze settings, and challenge settings
selected sounds
alarm events, such as ring, snooze, dismiss, and wake checks

D. Buddy and social features

If you use RisePal’s buddy features, we may process:

buddy requests and buddy relationships
wake-up messages and reactions
sound swaps
voice clips
drawings
ratings, streaks, and related buddy activity
draw game activity if you use that feature

E. Device and notification information

If you enable notifications, we may collect:

push notification token
device identifier used for notification delivery
platform information, such as Android or iOS
device name, where available

F. Subscription and purchase information

If you subscribe to paid features, we may receive subscription status and purchase-related information from app store providers and our subscription service provider. We do not receive your full payment card number.

3. How we use your information

We use information to:

provide, maintain, and improve RisePal
create and manage your account
save and deliver alarms and alarm-related features
enable buddy features and social interactions
send app notifications and wake-up related alerts
process and manage subscriptions
respond to support requests
protect the app, users, and service integrity

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your alarm content for advertising.

4. Legal bases and fairness

Where required by law, we process your information because:

it is necessary to provide the service you asked us to provide
it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app
you gave consent, where consent is required
we need to comply with legal obligations

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share information only with:

service providers that help us run the app
authentication providers such as Google or Apple, if you choose those login methods
cloud hosting, database, storage, and notification providers
subscription and payment service providers
legal authorities, if required by law or needed to protect users or the service

If you use buddy features, certain information is necessarily visible or shared with your buddy, depending on the feature. For example, buddies may see wake-up activity, messages, voice clips, drawings, reactions, or sound swaps that you choose to send or make available through the app.

6. Third-party services

RisePal may rely on third-party services to operate, including:

Google Firebase Cloud Messaging or similar push services
Apple or Google sign-in providers if you choose social login
RevenueCat and app store billing systems

Those services may process information as part of providing their services to RisePal.

7. Data retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

In general:

account and profile data are kept while your account remains active
alarms and settings remain until you delete them or delete your account
buddy content remains until deleted, where deletion is supported, or until account deletion
push tokens may be removed when you sign out or stop using notifications
subscription records may be retained as needed for billing, tax, fraud prevention, and legal compliance

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

access your information
correct your information
delete your account or request deletion of your data
object to or restrict certain processing
withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing

You can also:

update profile information in the app
manage notifications in your device settings
manage subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play

10. Children

RisePal is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will investigate.

11. International transfers

If you use RisePal from outside the country where our service providers operate, your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
